Indian Government said on Saturday that one-day deaths due to COVID-19 amounted to 375 as the new positive cases climbed to 14,516.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that death toll due to COVID-19 pandemic so far stood at 12,948 while total COVID-19 cases in the country since the outbreak reached 395,048.
According to the ministry data, 213,831 people have recovered so far. Indian Government had announced its decision to extend the lockdown in containment zones while giving key relaxations in the less affected areas.
However, many state governments are unwilling to extend the lockdown as it has already made normal life and economic activities in jeopardy.
