Omicron revives sale of facemasks, sanitizers

No sooner the people in Kuwait and the world had breathed a sigh of relief, took off their face masks and forgot all about hand sterilizers and social distancing, the new Covid-19 mutant Omicron has come to haunt again.

Al-Qabas said although the health authorities in Kuwait have yet to sound an alarm, residents and citizens are leaving nothing for chance.

The daily during a visit to pharmacies and supermarkets saw people buying protective gear and said the sale had almost doubled especially for face masks and hand sanitizers.

The good news is, the daily said, the plenty of supplies — face masks, sterilizers, disinfection materials and gloves — are available without any noticeable increase in retail prices.
