NPC receives approval for second extension on maintenance contract

The Central Agency for Public Tenders approved National Petroleum Company’s second extension of the maintenance contract for electrical systems, fire alarm systems and sirens in the Mina Abdullah Refinery, concluded with Al-Dar Engineering and Construction Company, for a period of 12 months, starting from May 2, 2023 until May 1, 2024.

Along with an increase in the value of the contract by 1.45 million dinars, equivalent to 10.8 percent, and on the same terms, until the completion of the alternative tender.

The Board of Directors of the Agency also decided to reject the complaint of the Kuwaiti Digital Computer Company regarding the significant decrease in the price of the bidder that won the first place in the tender for the Information Technology Support Center, that would have leasing services on technical support for personal computers, laptops, peripherals and accessories for all National Petroleum sites, reports a local Arabic daily.

The Board of Directors also adhered to the decision to study the bids that follow the second lowest prices and to provide a recommendation, in response to the request of the Kuwait Oil Company to reconsider the previous decision and to approve the following:

  1. Awarding the tender to replace the current high-pressure “HP” and low-pressure “LP” smoke burners with smokeless burners in the North 5 Kuwait assembly centers at the second lowest price, for a total amount of 11.539 million dinars.
  2. It should be noted that due to high prices of some items in the bid formula, the contractor will be asked to reduce them.
