Next two years to determine who wins race to the moon: NASA administrator

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson confirmed in an interview with Politico that China could claim ownership of huge parts of the moon if it wins the new space race with the United States.

He pointed out that it is possible for China to occupy the most resource-rich areas on the moon if it proves its presence there first, reports a local Arabic daily.

“That’s right, we’d better make sure they don’t get somewhere on the moon under the guise of scientific research,” Nelson added. Since it is not uncommon for them to say: (Go away, we are here, this is our land!).

As an example, he spoke of China’s deployment of military bases on disputed islands in the South China Sea.

Nelson also noted that the space race between the United States and China is getting fiercer and that the next two years could determine who wins.
