Negative Covid tests required for traveling to US starting January 26

All airline passengers, including US citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs), before traveling to the United States are required to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test or having recovered from COVID-19 under new travel regulations. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director has signed an order requiring the certificates from January 26.

This is applicable to all airline passengers interested to travel to the United States, who are between the ages two years and older. The negative COVID-19 viral test should be taken within three calendar days of travel or alternatively, the traveler can provide a positive test result and documentation from a licensed health care provider or public health official that shows they have recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days before travel.

Passengers must also provide attestation documentation, under penalty of law, to having received a negative qualifying test result or having recovered from COVID-19 and have the medical clearance to travel.

Airlines are obligated to stop passengers from traveling who do not meet these requirements.
