Public Authority for Combating Corruption released a report discussing corruption-related crimes in September, which revealed 9 corruption crimes, and 9 financial violations, Al-Qabas daily reported.
The total number of reports submitted to the commission increased during the current year until September to 692 reports, while August recorded 646 reports. The rate of reports increased since the start of the anti-corruption regulations until the month of September to 308, including 57 in 2020, while Health and Agriculture, Kuwait Municipality and Customs remained the highest in the rate of complaints submitted against them.
The authority requested a criminal case be initiated against a group on suspicion of forgery, in addition to referring two others to the Public Prosecution Office for the perpetrator’s mishandling of public money.
Also mentioned in the report was 5 cases to be suspended as the one who reported them did not adhere to the provisions of the law, and no evidence of corruption crimes.
In September, the Corruption Detection and Investigation Sector received 92 reports, 30 of which were recorded in the Administrative Complaints Book, where the conditions for registering the formal or substantive report was not provided, and the registration of 16 reports in which the formal and substantive conditions were met, while 46 others are being studied.
With regards to the reports registered on September, 8 targeted directors of departments, in addition to two assistant secretaries and one director of an agency, while the reports included 9 corruption crimes, 9 financial violations, and one not yet specified.
The total number of cases monitored by the Corruption Detection and Investigation Sector rose to 9 cases, an increase of 3 new cases compared to August. Cases were filed against the Ministry of Health and another against Kuwait Municipality, with cases involving the violation of integrity law was against a minister and director of administration and another unspecified.
