National Assembly approves nine letters from panels

The National Assembly approved, in its regular session Tuesday, nine letters, including a letter from MP Ahmad Al-Hamad, chairman of the financial and economic affairs committee, requesting the referral of a set of bills attached to the text of the letter and listed on agenda of the legislative and legal affairs committee to the finance committee.

These proposals include laws: Islamic bonds (establishing a lending fund to save small and medium enterprises) reconstruction of the Failaka and Boubyan islands (establishing the Failaka Island public authority), establishing the Kuwait City Development Company (amendments to the law establishing the Audit Bureau).

The committee approved a letter from MP Muhalhal Al-Mudhaf requesting that the committee be tasked with researching and investigating the withdrawals and the non-compliance of the competent organizational unit in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to implement the provisions of Law No. 2 of 1995.

The committee also okayed a letter from MP Adnan Abdulsamad, head of the budgets and final account committee, requesting to assign the Audit Bureau to study the financial situation of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, including several items.

The committee also approved a letter from Abdulsamad requesting assigning the Audit Bureau to prepare a report explaining the governmentآ’s actions regarding cybersecurity and technology, including many items. Among those messages is a letter from Abdulsamad also requesting to assign the Ministry of Defense to coordinate with those necessary to prepare a draft final account law for the exceptional budget issued by Law No. 3 of 2016 for the fiscal years since the law was approved and referred to the National Assembly.

The committee also approved a letter from MP Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqabi requesting that the proposal for the attached law be referred to the housing and real estate affairs committee, pursuant to the text of Article 55 of the National Assembly’s bylaws. It also consented to another letter from Al-Saqabi requesting that the attached laws be referred to the budgets and final account committee, pursuant to the text of the same article.

Among those messages is a letter from MP Dr. Saleh Al-Mutairi requesting that the health, social affairs and labor committee be assigned to study and research the topic. It finally okayed another letter from Al-Mutairi requesting that the health, social affairs and labor committee be assigned to study and discuss the issue of contracts for workers in nursing services in the Ministry of Health and the role of the Public Authority for the Manpower.
