The Kuwait Municipality has refused to allocate the land of West Sabahiya (East Al-Ahmadi) to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, because it cannot be used as a private housing area.
Informed sources said the Director General of the Municipality, Eng. Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, addressed the Municipal Council regarding this proposal, where he explained the reasons for turning down the request, noting that foremost among them was the statement of the Ministry of Oil that the site is located within the borders of the Great Burgan field, and is close to oil installations, and it poses a security risk, reports Al-Rai daily.
