Municipality forms committee to organize waste transportation

The Director General of the Kuwait Municipality, Eng Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, has issued a decision assigning the Deputy Director-General for Services Sector Affairs to head the Committee for the Rehabilitation of Waste Transport Companies and Institutions.

Al-Manfouhi specified the terms of reference of the committee in preparing the conditions and controls for the qualification brochure and the forms that must be made available for waste transport companies, institutions and individuals (construction waste – municipal solid waste) in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on Cleanliness and Waste Transport and its amendments, and to receive and study requests and grievances submitted by companies and institutions and those wishing to qualify in accordance with the requirements provided for in the brochure, reports Al-Qabas daily.

He called for receiving applications from licensing companies, institutions and individuals who applied to the municipality, and issuing the necessary licenses in accordance with the conditions and controls that are approved and take appropriate measures in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations on Cleaning and Waste Transport and its amendments in the event that the license holder commits any violations such as withdrawal of the license or temporary suspension.

The committee seeks to amend the articles of the regulation, in efforts and cooperation with the executive body and the Environment Public Authority, “especially since it has reviewed all the studies and strategies in force in the State of Kuwait, such as the state’s structural plan report, related to waste management, the Environment Public Authority’s strategy and the advice of the World Bank, in addition to the recommendations.”
