Moroccan embassy marks 20th year anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession

The Moroccan embassy in Kuwait celebrated the 20th year anniversary of the country’s H.M. King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne on Tuesday, 30 July.

Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, praised Kuwait’s exceptional “historic” relations with Morocco, and stated that this relationship has been translated through various levels of cooperation.

For his part, Morocco’s ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Jafar Hakim mentioned joint talks that were hosted by Rabat, Morocco’s capital late in April, where several agreements were signed most notably in the cultural field.

The ambassador also expressed hope that a direct air navigational route would be established between both countries in the foreseeable future, hailing the impact this move would have on reigniting bilateral trade and tourism cooperation.

In the meantime, he mentioned that the embassy is currently working on preparations with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters to hold a Moroccan cultural week in Kuwait before the end of the year.
