Morning weddings organized despite curfew and gathering ban

Despite the partial curfew passed to limit gatherings to reduce the coronavirus infections, some citizens and expats have resorted to the phenomenon of morning weddings, parties, and other gatherings, with invitations announcing the event through social media while dinner events turned into relaxation and lunch, Al Qabas daily reported. Many residents continue to hold social events in homes with all possible facilities similar to when there is no curfew by taking advantage of available offers from companies specialized in coordination and providing equipment who are advertising on social media.

This was an attempt to adapt to the present circumstances that forced citizens to stay at home 12 hours a day from 5 pm until 5 am. To avoid legal measures, organizers of the parties and receptions were careful not to photograph their events, and also asked made the same request to attendees.

A number of advertisements from equipment companies and party coordinators were on display on social media, highlighting their services on these accounts from morning until three in the afternoon, while some showcase pictures of recently coordinated parties during the curfew. The follow-up of the reports revealed that social events continue during the morning period.

Citizens, who refused to disclose their names, told Al-Qabas daily: “We have been vaccinated and are taking health precautions,” noting that “Coronavirus will not stop our lives, as some have finished wedding arrangements some time ago and have completed the marriage procedures in the past few days.”
