The donations campaign organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs in cooperation with the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Information, via live broadcast on Kuwait TV to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 15 million dinars
The Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi said that the national campaign ‘Kuwait stands by you’ comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to provide all support to our brothers in Turkish and Syria who have been displaced and many of who are injured in the aftermath of the earthquakes that occurred in their countries, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Speaking on Kuwait TV while inaugurating the campaign Al-Mutairi added that this campaign, which also came under instructions from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, aims to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and to help and support the Syrian and Turkish peoples and help them mitigate the effects of the earthquake.
Minister Al-Mutairi affirmed that since the first moments of the earthquake, Kuwait mobilized at the official and popular levels to support the Syrian and Turkish peoples in facing their ordeal, pointing to what the Kuwaiti government and people have done in providing assistance to the needy as soon as possible.
He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Information through all its agencies and correspondents, in addition to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), to cover the facts and events of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and to highlight all the efforts made by the State of Kuwait, whether at the official or popular level, to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake.
Minister Al-Mutairi called on citizens and residents of the State of Kuwait to participate in the campaign through donations, extending a helping hand and assistance to those affected by the earthquake.
