Moon to shine 30% brighter tonight

The Kuwaiti Astronomical Society announces a spectacular giant moon appearing tonight, Tuesday, in the full moon phase. It will be the second largest moon of the year due to its perihelion state, being the closest point to Earth at 357,530 km, reports Al-Rai Daily.

Expect 30% more illumination compared to the moon at apogee. Optimal viewing is at sunset when the moon is behind a mountain, tree, or building, creating an optical illusion of even greater size.
