A memorandum containing suggestions to increase fees of some transaction and services provided by the Ministry of Interior, including those provided by the Residence Affairs Sector and the General Traffic Department is about to be submitted to the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf to decide on the issue.
An informed security source told a local Arabic daily the memorandum comes in the context of the low fees charged by the ministry for services provided by the ministry. The memorandum does not mention in detail the proposed fees but awaits approval.
On whether fees that will be imposed on visit visas of all kinds, the source said this matter is not heresy and many countries do this, and therefore it is expected that it will be applied in a large proportion in Kuwait, but did not indicate the value of the expected fees.
