MOI distributes e-passports to citizens through self-service machines

The Ministry of Interior as of today begins distribution of the electronic passport to citizens through the self-service machines that are installed in the Dajeej area and the national identity centers in the six governorates.

A local Arabic daily said, with this the Interior Ministry completes the system of renewing the electronic passport ‘online’.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior said in a statement this comes within the efforts of the security establishment to facilitate the citizens, and the keenness of the senior leadership of the Ministry of Interior to achieve accuracy and speed of performance through a technological shift to save time and effort for citizens.

This will be done in cooperation with the Residency and Nationality Affairs Sector, the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector, the General Administration of Nationality and Travel Documents will begin as of Tuesday, to deliver the electronic passport to citizens through self-service machines, in order to complete the system for renewing the electronic passport “online” that began in 2021.

The self-delivery of the electronic passport machines will start their work in the following centers — the General Directorate of Nationality and Kuwaiti Travel Documents in the Al-Dajeej area and the national identity centers in the six governorates.

The sources pointed out that the renewal of the electronic passport “online” through the Ministry of Interior website is available to those who are 21 years and above and those below 21 must visit the General Administration of Nationality and Kuwaiti Travel Documents in the Al-Dajeej area or any of the national identity centers in the six governorates accompanied by their guardian from 8:00 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon and in the evening from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
