Moh plans to vaccinate children with Pfizer

The Ministry of Health (MoH) plans to vaccinate children between the age of 12 to 15 years old with Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19, Al-Rai Daily reported.

This would lead to immunizing children before the start of school in September and help develop herd immunity in Kuwait.

Informed sources revealed to the daily to accelerate the pace of vaccination in the country the ministry had requested more quantities of Pfizer vaccine. According to sources’ estimates, about 200,000 children are expected to receive the vaccination.

This step by Kuwait comes after a similar step by the United States, Canada, and other countries, and the European Union Commission’s approval of the Pfizer vaccine to vaccinate children over 12 years old.

12 years old: 57167 (33,083 Kuwaitis and 24,084 non-Kuwaitis)

13 years old: 55,735 (32,520 Kuwaitis and 23,315 non-Kuwaitis)

14 years old: 53,566 (31,705 Kuwaitis and 21,861 non-Kuwaitis)

15 years old: 51705 (31,042 Kuwaitis and 20,663 non-Kuwaitis)
