The Kuwaiti government is expected to transfer the supervision of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities to the Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development. The Disability Authority, which was previously under the Ministry of Health, will be assigned to the competent minister in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 8 of 2010.
The issued decree will authorize the transfer of two new entities to the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development, Fahd Al-Shariaan, wherein he will be transferred to the General Administration of Customs as the Minister of Commerce and Disability, the Minister of Affairs.
The Arab daily reported that the transfer of the affiliation of “disability” and “customs”, as well as, the “financial investigation unit” and financial controller’s body to the minister of finance, including the transfer of the supervision of the Public Authority for Manpower to the Minister of Interior and the agriculture authority to the minister of state for cabinet affairs demonstrate a move by the government to rearrange the ministers’ managerial duties over the respective government authorities and competencies.
