Ministry of Social Affairs committed to supporting, developing coops

Minister of Social Affairs, Shaikh Firas Saoad Al-Malek Al-Subah, expressed his commitment to supporting and developing cooperative societies while attending the inauguration of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Cooperative Society’s central market.

The event was attended by MPs Muhammad Al-Huwaila and Muhammad Al-Mahan. Shaikh Firas mentioned that under the guidance of His Highness the Prime Minister, they aim to provide better services to the people and achieve more significant milestones in the region.

Sultan Al-Otaibi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sabah Al-Ahmad Cooperative, highlighted the cooperative’s dedication to serving the residents and shareholders of the association. He emphasized that with the support of the relevant authorities and the cooperation of the Board of Directors, the cooperative has evolved from its humble beginnings to become an advanced association. Social services and other important initiatives have been generously funded to achieve this progress.

Minister Al-Sabah, assured that the ministry remains steadfast in its support for cooperative societies and is committed to overcoming any challenges they may encounter.

During the event, it was announced that the cooperative will open its fourth central market in the city, increasing the total number of branches to 21.

The cooperative has been successful, with annual sales reaching 35 million dinars, bank deposits amounting to about 13 million dinars, and an annual profit of half a million dinars.
