Ministry initiates new projects to reform education

As part of its comprehensive education reform initiative, the Ministry of Education is presently executing a series of novel projects. Among these initiatives, three novel endeavors have been incorporated into the Ministry’s developmental blueprint for the fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.

These include the restructuring of the Ministry of Education’s organizational framework, the formulation of the long-term strategy spanning from 2025 to 2035, and the establishment of the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Academy, designed to offer specialized training for students.

Insiders disclosed to Al-Qabas daily that the department responsible for the state’s development agenda within the Ministry of Education has officially communicated the introduction of these three new projects to the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. This expansion supplements the five existing projects encompassed by the integrated education reform scheme, as well as the Ministry of Education’s digital transformation endeavor.

The integrated education reform system encompasses four key projects. Foremost is the curriculum enhancement initiative, followed by the development of educational facilities across various forms of education. The program also includes the enhancement of school administration to foster professional growth within the educational workforce.

Lastly, there’s a project aimed at diversifying secondary education pathways to align with global benchmarks.
The Ministry of Education has convened multiple meetings with representatives from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development to deliberate on the proposed three new projects and the rationale behind their inclusion. The Ministry has formally requested planning approval to integrate these projects within the forthcoming academic year’s development plan.

In a separate development, the daily has learned that certain foreign schools seeking to expand by annexing neighboring structures have faced rejections from the Kuwait Municipality. This measure has been taken to prevent overcrowding within residential areas, both traditional and privately-owned.

Sources have disclosed that the Kuwait Municipality has declined permission for the establishment of private schools in conventional and privately-owned residential zones, in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Municipal Council.
