The Minister of Municipality Abdulaziz Al-Mojil called on the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to cancel the licenses of violating commercial vehicles as the municipality’s role is limited to determining the locations of the sale and direct activity of the vehicles in question.
Al-Mojil mentioned, in a letter addressed to the Director General of the Municipality, Eng. Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, regarding the task of monitoring the violations of mobile commercial vehicles and taking adequate measures to remove them in accordance with the established regulations that the issue had increased in various regions of Kuwait. He stressed that most of these violations occurred in private housing areas that were the subject of many complaints from the people.
Moreover, he added that the vehicle’s license is issued by the Ministry for a period of four years, renewable for a similar period each time, unless the supervisory authority specifies a lesser duration, and provided that the license includes the type of permitted activity.
Al-Mojil called for the need to remove all vehicles violating the locations specified for mobile commercial vehicles by all municipal employees in the governorate branches, and to instruct the competent departments to take the necessary measures regarding controlling violations that fall within the jurisdiction of the municipality on the one hand, and to activate them in accordance with the relevant regulations and decisions, the general hygiene regulations, and the decisions of the Municipal Council.
