Minister promises payment of dues for the ‘disabled’ within two weeks

The owners of special needs nurseries and schools suspended their sit-in which was scheduled to begin Monday and last for two weeks, after their meeting with Minister of Social Affairs Mai Al-Baghli.

The representative of the owners of nurseries and schools, Hanan Al-Mudhahka, told a local Arabic daily that the meeting came with cooperation and coordination of MP Alia Al-Khaled to meet Al-Baghli, noting that Al-Khaled sought to bring the views of the two parties closer together, to solve the problem and explain the extent to which nurseries and schools were affected by the disorganization and mismanagement of the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, which disrupted payment of dues and as a result had a negative impact on children.

Al-Mudhahka indicated Minister of Social Affairs has promised to solve the problem of educational financial payments for students enrolled in schools and nurseries for people with disabilities.

She added the problems were discussed in detail with the minister, who promised that the first and second batches of this year will be paid within two weeks, indicating that the owners of schools and nurseries will wait for the announcement, and if the payment problem does not end, we will close the doors of nurseries and will not receive children, unfortunately, and the sit-in will continue until the problem is solved.
