Minister of Health, Dr. Basil Al-Sabah has issued a ministerial decision, which is published today, Sunday, in the Official Gazette, ‘Kuwait Al-Youm’, to transfer tuberculosis to ‘quarantine diseases’ section, which requires mandatory health isolation of the infected person, examining those who come in contact with such patients daily, and forcing them to isolate themselves, if necessary.
The decision stipulates the transfer of pulmonary tuberculosis from ‘Item B’ “non-quarantine diseases” to ‘item A’ quarantine diseases according to Law No. 8 of 1969 regarding health precautions to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. The decision comes into effect today following the publication in the official gazette.
