Maurya Kala Parisar holds AGM, members’ dinner event

Maurya Kala Parisar, a prominent socio-cultural organization in Kuwait, held its in-person Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Members’ Dinner at Rajdhani Palace on 4 March, after nearly two years of having had to hold virtual events due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Families and kids were excited by being able to interact with each after a gap of two years and had great fun. There was a walk-in Karaoke and games. On-spot prizes and games created a lot of excitement

The AGM approved the organization’s accounts and reviewed its performance over the past year. Also, as the two year term of Executive Committee members had ended a new Executive Committee was elected as follows:

Abhay Kumar Kashyap (President); Vivek Prasad Sinha (General Secretary); Bushra Afroz Ansari (Vice President); Ranjay Kumar (Treasurer);Mohammad Mahtabuzzaman (Joint Secretary); Shweta Shruti (Cultural Coordinator).

The new committee members are: Syed Shabih, Shruti Katyar, Mithilesh Kumar, Anil Kumar Das, Supriya Singh, Shafeeque Ahmad, Asif Iqbal, Mani Kant Verma, Nehal Ahmed, and Shyam Bihari Singh.

Speaking on the occasion the new president Mr.Kashyap said “Maurya Kala Parisar is one of the oldest Indian Community Associations in Kuwait and represents two states of Bihar and Jharkhand. He added that the three premium annual events held by the organization — Ethnic Food Festival, Dinkar Hindi Awards and Maurya Manch, have been a regular feature of the Indian Diaspora calendar. The new committee plans to hold these and many more events.”

During the pandemic the Association kept its members engaged with virtual dance and music events. Following the call by the Indian Embassy to celebrate the 75th Year of Indian Independence a Virtual Event was held which was accompanied by a message from the Indian Ambassador.
