‘Marine Grocery’ coming soon to Kuwait

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) is studying the idea of issuing new licenses under the name ‘Bahriya Grocery’ in a move aimed at serving sea-goers.

Informed sources told Al-Anba the MCI is working to issue this license after a number of citizens have shown their interest to establish marine groceries to serve cruise boats, fishing trawlers and other sea-goers.

The marine groceries are expected to provide various types of products — food, water, juices, ice cream, cigarettes and others. If approval is given, the Ministry of Commerce will work in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality and the Environment Public Authority to determine the requirements and specifications required for this type of commercial activity.
