LuLu Hypermarket, the leading regional hypermarket chain, recently received international recognition for the robust data security environment that it has in place throughout its chain of retail outlets worldwide.
Crossbow Labs, the leading Cyber security compliance and certification body in the region, issued the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Certification of Compliance to LuLu Hypermarket, in a virtual ceremony held in the last week of August at the LuLu Hypermarket regional office in Kuwait.
The virtual certificate presentation ceremony was attended by top management from the regional office and Crossbow labs. LuLu Hypermarket officials expressed their pleasure at receiving the PCI-DSS Certification from Crossbow Labs, one of the leading cyber security compliance and certification bodies in the region. They added that this was an acknowledgement of the stringent security practices the hypermarket employs to secure customers’ payment transaction, information and other personal data, across all its stores in Kuwait.
For their part, Crossbow Labs representatives congratulated LuLu Hypermarket Kuwait on receiving the certification, and pointed out that PCI-DSS Certification was a recognition for the hypermarket’s commitment to adopt international best practices in cyber security initiatives.
The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), which administers and manages the PCI DSS, is an independent body created by American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard and Visa, where the onus of enforcing compliance to PCI DSS standards rests with the payment brands and acquirers. The PCI DSS certification enhances security for consumers by setting international guidelines for maintaining a secure business ecosystem, while accepting, processing, or transmitting all credit card information. The regulations that underpin the certification form a framework for developing a complete payment card data security process that encompasses prevention, detection, and appropriate reaction to security incidents.
