Kyrgyz Ambassador celebrates country’s Independence Day

To celebrate the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Kyrgystan, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Samargiul Adamkulova held a grand reception at the Four Seasons Hotel on 19 February.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Ali Al-Saeed was a chief guest at the reception and Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of  Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Azamat Jamankulov was also present as part of the celebrations.

In his speech, Ambassador Ali Al-Saeed, lauded the development of Kuwaiti-Kyrgyz relations and expressed his appreciation for the Kyrgyz Republic. He pointed out that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Development is carrying out projects in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in the field of infrastructure and mentioned the role of Kuwaiti charities in launching many philanthropic projects in the country.

Ambassador Ali Al-Saeed noted that many Kuwaitis go to Kyrgyzstan for tourism or to be involved in projects and charities in the light of the many opportunities offered in the country. He added that Kyrgyzstan supports the established principles of democracy and openness.

Guests were entertained by a dance troupe dressed in colorful traditional garb flown in from Kyrgyzstan and singers, who performed and showcased traditional Kyrgyzstan dances and songs.

An exhibition of traditional Kyrgyz handicrafts, food products, and clothing allowed guests a glimpse of the richness and diverseness of the country’s heritage and culture.
