Kuwait’s positions stem from its national interests

Quickly, and in less than 24 hours, the Kuwaiti response came to the statements of the advisor to US President Donald Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in which he described Kuwait’s stance in support of Palestine as radical and unconstructive, Al Qabas reported.

The daily said, quoting government sources, Kuwait is committed to its position with regards to calling for normalization of ties with Israel, and it has not changed, explaining that this position stems from its consistent national interests for years, and in a way that achieves the interests of the Palestinian people. The daily reports, quoting sources, that Kuwait’s position from the beginning was, and remains, supportive of the Palestinian cause at all levels. In the context, 41 deputies issued a statement rejecting normalization and affirming the leadership’s firm stance towards opposing the Zionist entity and supporting the just cause of Palestine. The deputies said in the statement: The crimes of the occupying Zionist entity cannot be abolished or removed from the souls of our children, nor does normalization reduce their gravity, as this entity is still committing the most heinous crimes against people, trees, and even stone.

The statement added, “The Kuwaiti people of all sects will not accept any retreat from their government’s commitment to the first Arab and Muslim cause, and will continue to strengthen the political leadership in its courageous and steadfast stance towards the issue over the years.”
