Kuwait’s humanitarian team concludes mission for Syrian refugees in Turkey

Kuwait’s Shifa humanitarian team concluded its journey to Turkey on Sunday, after carrying out a number of surgeries for Syrian refugees at Sevgi hospital in Turkey’s southern Reyhanli.

Team member Fawzan Al­Anjari told KUNA that the team had treated all cases including plastic surgery, burns, urinary, hand and peripheral nerves, bones and endocrinology surgeries. The team also examined 54 Syrian patients who needed surgical operations as they had medical field visits to refugee camps, he added.

Shifa team also visited a school for Syrian refugee children, which includes 300 students at the border where the members of the team distributed aid to their families, he said.

The Kuwaiti humanitarian team comprised 15 doctors and an administrative staff on its journey, which also involved financial and food aid to 530 Syrian refugee families.
