Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah is preparing for a European tour in the coming days, which will include France and a number of other European countries.
According to the sources, the tour, which will start on Tuesday, June 27, will include, in addition to France, Austria, Hungary and other countries, with the aim of strengthening Kuwaiti-European relations and discussing many issues of common concern, in addition to discussing developments in the region and the most prominent developments in Eastern parts and Middle East, within the framework of continuous Kuwaiti-European coordination, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting diplomatic sources.
The same sources stated that the issue of exempting Kuwaitis from the “Schengen” visa will be one of the most prominent files that the foreign minister will discuss with officials of the European countries he will visit.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs recently met ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions and charge d’affaires of a number of European countries accredited to Kuwait, and stressed the need to facilitate procedures for issuing a Schengen visa for Kuwaitis.
Al-Abdullah called for the necessity of overcoming the difficulties facing citizens, facilitating the necessary procedures for applying for a Schengen visa, providing more allocated dates and speeding up the completion of visas valid for several years through simplified and smooth procedures.
