Kuwaitis can apply for electronic visas to Russia starting August

The Russian government will begin issuing electronic visas to citizens of 52 countries, including Kuwait, starting on Tuesday, 1 August. The new system allows citizens of these countries to apply for an electronic visa through a special website or mobile app. Ambassador Vladimir Zheltov of the Russian Federation to Kuwait announced the new system in a statement to Al-Rai newspaper.

To obtain an electronic visa to Russia, applicants must fill out an electronic form on the website electronic-visa.kdmid.ru or through the mobile app. The form requires personal data, a photo with a closed head, and a photo of the passport’s main page. There are no other documents required. The minimum date for filling out the form is at least 4 days before the date of entry into Russia. The electronic visa service is provided in exchange for consular fees (according to tariffs).

The unified electronic visa allows holders to enter Russia for tourism, trade, private visits, scientific, cultural, social, economic, and sporting events. The maximum stay in Russia is 16 days from the date of entry, during the validity period of the visa (60 days). Holders of unified electronic visas can enter and exit Russia through air, land, and sea border crossings. Transport companies can also check the validity of electronic visas issued to travelers to Russia via the website evisacheck.kdmid.ru.
