Kuwaiti women create application to solve food waste crisis

A group of Kuwaiti students at the College of Engineering and Petroleum have created the Unexpire application, which alerts users of the expiry date of food, and helps cooperative societies to digitally transform and create a database that the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition can use in planning for the future, with the aim of contributing to solving the food waste crisis in the country.

In an introductory video about the application, on social media, the students said that it contributes to solving the problem of food waste, since Kuwait ranks twentieth in the world, reports Al-Qabas daily.

He pointed out that the application in addition to alerting individuals about the food expiry dates, it suggests how to consume food before it expires, or to donate it.
