Kuwait to build new drug warehouses to enhance strategic stock, drug security

As part of efforts to strengthen drug security and ensure the maintenance of strategic pharmaceutical reserves, reliable sources have disclosed to Al-Rai that the Ministry of Health is currently in the process of establishing new drug warehouses across the country.

These sources said this initiative is in line with the directives of Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health, who is keen to proactively address potential challenges arising from geopolitical events in the region. They emphasized that the strategic stockpile of medicines and medical preparations remains secure.

Moreover, the sources highlighted some key aspects of the ministry’s future plans in this context, including the diversification of pharmaceutical sources, forging new partnerships, strengthening collaboration with countries that produce medicines, and working to enhance regulatory frameworks to expedite the documentation process.

It was further noted that Dr. Al-Awadhi recently visited Turkey, where he toured a Turkish pharmaceutical factory and assessed its prominent services and product offerings.
