Kuwait still waiting for schedule from Indian Civil Aviation to restart flights

Even as Indian carriers are still awaiting the announcement and schedule from the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry to resume direct flights from India to Kuwait, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that direct flghts between Egypt and Kuwait would resume this Sunday.

Director of the Air Transport Department at (Civil Aviation) Abdullah Al-Rajhi told KUNA today, Friday, that 9 Kuwaiti and Egyptian air carriers will operate between the two brotherly countries according to the number of seats that have been determined between them, which is in line with the cabinet’s recent decision to increase the capacity at Kuwait Airport. International.

Al-Rajhi also stated, in a parallel context, that the administration is still awaiting the approval of the competent Indian authorities to start flights from India to Kuwait International Airport, which is expected to be within the next week as well.

The delay in announcement has meant that the regular schedule of flights will be delayed even after Kuwait has opened its airspace for direct lfights from India. The unsual delay by the Indian side has travel agents anxious as fares are reaching record levels for one way return tickets from India.

He stressed the need to adhere to the health requirements for entering Kuwait, which were set by the health authorities, in order to avoid any obstacles or reasons preventing those coming to Kuwait from entering and returning them to their countries.
