Kuwait residents rank second among the most indebted in the Arab world

Kuwait’s population came in second place in a recent report issued by the Credit Suisse group on the most indebted among the residents of the Arab countries, with an average debt of USD 12.16 thousand per person, Al-Rai reported.

The report also indicated that the average per capita debt in Kuwait declined by about 16.5 percent within a year.

The residents of Qatar were the most indebted in the Arab world, with an average of USD 16.9 thousand, despite its decline of 14.3 percent on an annual basis, while the residents of the UAE ranked third, with an average debt of 9.4 thousand per capita, despite its average decline of about 19.5 percent.

Bahrain residents came in fourth place with an average debt of USD 7,236, down 10.5 percent, followed by residents of Saudi Arabia, with an average of USD 4445, down 7.8 percent.
