Kuwait recorded the lowest birthrate over a period of 15 years. During 2020, the Corona Year, 50,409 babies were born. which is the lowest number since 2005, Al-Rai reported.
The daily reported that the number of births during 2020 decreased by 2.9 percent, equivalent to 1517 births when compared to 2019. 51,926 babies were born in 2019.
The number of Kuwaiti births decreased during 2020 by 1.8 percent, 31,295 Kuwaiti babies were born in 2020 compared to 31,870 births in 2019.
As for the resident births, their number decreased by 4.69%, equivalent to 942 births, as19,114 babies were born in 2020 compared to 20056 in 2019.
