Kuwait recalls its ambassador from Lebanon and asks the Chargé d’Affairs to leave Kuwait within 48 hours

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that Kuwait decided to recall its ambassador to the Lebanese Republic for consultations and to order the Chargé d’Affairs of the Lebanese Embassy in the State of Kuwait to leave within 48 hours, Arabic daily Al Rai reported.

The statement stressed that this decision comes “in view of the Lebanese Republic’s glorification and its persistence in negative statements and the failure to address the unacceptable and reprehensible positions against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council in addition to the failure of the Government of the Lebanese Republic to take the necessary measures to deter the continuing and increasing smuggling operations of the scourge of drugs to Kuwait and the rest of the world.

It added that “though it regrets what happened, at the same time confirms its concern for the Lebanese brothers residing in the State of Kuwait and not to harm them.”
