Kuwait, Qatar sign MoU to establish Olympic academy

Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC) signed with Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Aspire Academy on Thursday a memorandum of understanding to create a multi-games Olympic sports academy in Kuwait.

The agreement was signed from the Kuwaiti side by KOC President Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad, and from the Qatari side by QOC President Sheikh Jo’aan Bin Hamad AlThani, and President of Aspire Academy Hilal Kuwari. The MoU stipulates establishing an Olympic center for sports medicine in Kuwait, including sports medicine specialties, and also sciences and researches in the field, especially diagnosis, critical surgeries and physical rehabilitation.

The memorandum also includes a provision enabling the Kuwaiti clubs of benefiting from the developed sports infrastructure in Qatar through carrying out training campaigns during the year to enhance the level of Kuwait’s sports. It also aims at developing programs of juniors’ sports, studying the development of sports institutions and athletes’ skills.
