Kuwait PM tours home-quarantine monitoring center

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah on Thursday inspected a newly launched center for monitoring home-quarantined citizens.

He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh, Minister Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Waleed Al-Jassem.

During the tour, the prime minister listened to a briefing from the center’s officials on the recently created app called “Shlonik” which aims to help health officials monitor quarantined people’s abidance by relevant rules.

The officials said Shlonik mainly aims at contributing to curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Kuwait, and helping in the gradual and safe reopening of the country.

His Highness the Prime Minister made a virtual contact with a home-quarantined citizen who had recently arrived back to Kuwait, appreciating his compliance with home quarantine guidelines.

Speaking to reporters following the tour, the prime minister said that all these measures were put in place in line with His Highness the Amir’s instructions for the repatriation of citizens during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Sheikh Sabah Khaled urged home-quarantined citizens to follow the guidelines of health teams just to observe law and to protect public health while appreciating the great efforts of all state sectors.
