The Council of Ministers during its meeting yesterday decided to temporarily stop all social events which are held in closed places, as of next Sunday, January 9 until next February 28. The Council also decided to obligate all incoming passengers to bring a PCR test certificate taken not earlier than 72 hours, as of today, Tuesday, Jan 4, 2022.
Meanwhile, informed sources told “Al-Rai” the Ministry of Health is planning to immunizing specific category of people with the fourth dose, including patients whose immunity is weak and some groups most at risk of infection, similar to what some countries of the world have started doing.
Pfizer CEO Albert Borla recently announced that a fourth dose may be needed after preliminary research showed that the ‘Omicron’ variant could undermine the antibodies produced by the Corona vaccine.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Health has decided to postpone the convening of the special committees for treatment abroad, starting from next Sunday until further notice and until the global epidemiological situation improves, except for critical cases if there is no treatment available for the patient inside Kuwait.
These measures came after the daily numbers recorded a significant jump in the number of infections. However, the clinical situation remains stable, as no new deaths have been recorded.
The head of the Supreme Advisory Committee to confront the Corona pandemic, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah, stressed the importance of strict adherence to health protocols and leaving nothing for chance.
With the continued deterioration of the health situation in various countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies continued to call on citizens abroad to return.
After calls to those in the United Kingdom, France and Germany to return home the day before yesterday, similar calls were issued, yesterday, to those in Spain, Ukraine, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey and Morocco.
