Kuwait organizes workshop under the ‘Education for Global Citizenship’ title

The Kuwaiti National Commission for Education, Science and Culture held a workshop under the title “Education for Global Citizenship” under the auspices of Secretary-General-designate Ali Hussein Ali, to enable students to contribute to building a more just, peaceful, tolerant and sustainable society.

Associate Professor at Sultan Qaboos University and a visiting professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, Dr. Khalaf Al-Abri, told Al-Anba daily, that this workshop comes in coordination with the UNESCO office in Doha and the Kuwaiti National Committee for Education, Science and Culture in Kuwait, which focuses on the fourth goal of the seven goals to create a global citizen during scholastic years, and wished all participants in the workshop success and facilitation.

For her part, Dr. Farida Abudan, a specialist in education programs at the UNESCO Office for the Gulf States and Yemen, said that the workshop targets 30 school coordinators for a period of 3 training days in applying education for global citizenship according to the UNESCO framework and teaching it in schools.
