Kuwait Government will organize by-elections for 2nd and 3rd constituencies on March 16 after the Court of Cassation slammed prison sentences on two MPs.
The government, in a meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, received a letter from National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim officially declaring seats of MPs Dr. Waleed Al-Tabtabae and Dr. Jamaan AlHerbesh vacant, an official statement said.
The two seats became vacant after the Court of Cassation sentenced the two MPs, during a session on July 8, 2018, for three and a half years behind bars.
The cabinet therefore assigned Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Jarrah AlSabah to prepare for byelections in the 2nd and 3rd constituencies on March 16.
