Kuwaiti firefighters managed to put out a conflagration at a timber warehouse of the Kuwait Ports Authority in western Mina Abdullah area, said the Kuwait Fire Service on Tuesday.
The flames were jointly controlled by freighters from the army, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, Medical Emergency, Kuwait National Petroleum Company and Kuwait Ports Authority, the service said in a statement.
The joint team could put out the fire in spite of the fact that the store covered around 8,000 square meters and there were strong winds, it added.
They also succeeded in fending off heavy damage and environmental pollution due to the incident, according to the statement.
