Kuwait faces unstable weather, heavy rains

Kuwait is currently witnessing an unstable weather and heavy showers across the country, said Dherar Al-Ali, a meteorologist at Meteorological Department of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The rains are moderate in some areas and heavy in others, he told KUNA on Monday, expecting the wind speed to be as high as 60 km/h. The rainfall was registered between 15-17 mm in the western areas, while in the northern ones was between 25-56 mm, he noted.

With the movement of the cold air towards the East, thunderstorms began heavy in some areas mainly Kuwait city, he pointed out. He predicted that the rain is going to continue on the residential areas during the next two hours.

Al-Ali urged the Sea-goers to be cautious when the waves become 7 feet, and the vehicle drivers to be aware of sudden low vision on highways. He also appealed to both expats and citizens to follow up weather bulletins and warnings through the DGCA’s application of the smart phones and the website of the DGCA, met.gov.kw. He called for following up weather conditions from official sources, wishing safety for all people.
