Kuwait contains spread of coronavirus, no new cases confirmed in 24 hours

The Kuwait Ministry of Health, Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Buthaina Al- Mudhaf stated that there are no new coronavirus infection cases discovered in the last 24 hrs in Kuwait.

She made the statement at a press conference that the 56 cases reported are in a stable condition and recovering.

Regarding the criticism in the Egypt media of Kuwaiti measures against those coming from Egypt, Al-Mudhaf said that the ministry is facilitating the processing for all countries, not just Egypt, which include those coming from Syria, India, Bangladesh and the Philippines as well.

There is no intention yet to stop flights with Egypt, and there is also no intention to evacuate Kuwaiti nationals from Egypt, but the ministry is monitoring the situation closely.

On his part, the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that China and the World
Health Organization (WHO) conducted, in February, vital and detailed studies on the novel
coronavirus, or COVID-19 for better understanding the virus. Such studies aid countries with information on the best means of preventing the spread of the virus, said Al-Sanad, adding that Kuwait is constant contact with WHO on the matter.
