Kuwait announced the return of its ambassador to the sisterly Republic of Lebanon, stressing that this step came after the Lebanese response to the Kuwaiti Gulf initiative and in response to the appeals of the moderate national political forces in Lebanon.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, according to a local Arabic daily, in light of the Lebanese response to the Kuwaiti Gulf initiative and in response to the appeals made by the moderate national political forces in Lebanon, and in response to the commitment made by the Prime Minister of the sisterly Republic of Lebanon to take the necessary and required measures to enhance cooperation with the State of Kuwait and the GCC countries and to stop all political, military and security activities affecting the Gulf Cooperation Council states, the State of Kuwait announces its ambassador’s return to Lebanon.
However, the Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of the Republic of Lebanon to return to the Arab fold with all its national institutions and agencies, expressing hope that security and peace will prevail in Lebanon.
