Kuwait Airways plans to allow travel health procedures upon arrival

Passengers arriving in Kuwait may no longer have to undergo necessary health checks, including a PCR and quarantine, at a transit destination and could instead complete the measures upon arrival, Kuwait Airways Chairman Ali Al-Dakhan said on Wednesday.

The proposal, which currently awaits the approval of health authorities and the Directorate of Civil Aviation, will allow travellers to land in Kuwait directly from their city of departure, Al-Dakhan told KUNA at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4. If adopted, the move will allow flights to operate on a 24 hour basis, increasing the expected revenue of the state carrier and other government sectors, he added, allowing for the airline to slowly reintroduce destinations it had halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kuwait Airways is fully committed to the compliance with state health precautions, with employees are strictly obligated to wear facemasks and commit to social distancing rules. Also, hand sanitizers and health instructions have adequately been placed throughout the airport’s halls, while planes are sanitized immediately upon arrival and prior to departure, he added. The new measures will supplement those existing in a “smooth and flexible” manner, he suggested.
