Kuwait Airways objects to aircraft sale from Alafco portfolio

The Kuwait Airways Corporation, which owns 10% of the capital of the Aviation Lease and Finance Company (ALAFCO) has objected to the agreement to sell 53 aircrafts from the company’s portfolio of assets.

A local Arabic daily quoting company sources said the percentage of the objectors is 12, as the Awqaf registered a similar objection in solidarity with the Kuwait Airways while the total attendance of the association reached about 87%.

The sources pointed out that the source of the objection is that there is only one company that will purchase the assets that ALAFCO intends to sell, and Kuwait Airways demanded to bring in more than one offer and more than one company to price the assets and compete to ensure the best possible price and ensure the integrity of the evaluation process.
