KU to soon start teaching Korean language at Faculty of Arts

The country will soon witness the teaching of the Korean language at Kuwait University, as a new field for enhancing language skills, learning about different cultural experiences, and strengthening cooperation between Kuwait and South Korea.

In this regard, Kuwait University officially signed a memorandum of understanding with the King Sejong Institute, which specializes in introducing the world to the Korean language and its culture, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The MOU was signed in the presence of the Acting Director of the University, Prof. Fahad Al-Dubais Al-Rashidi and the Korean Ambassador to the country Chung Byung-ha, with the aim of developing language skills and enriching the cultural experience of students, and strengthening friendship between Kuwait and the Republic of Korea by promoting the Korean language and culture.

The Kuwait University announced “it is scheduled to start teaching courses soon for students of the Faculty of Arts, after completing the necessary procedures.”

It is worth noting that the King Sejong Institute is a public institution operating under the auspices of the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It was established in 2007 and has 244 branches in 84 countries. It was established with the aim of introducing the world to the Korean language and culture by offering Korean language courses, workshops and various cultural activities.
