KPC pushes recruitment of Kuwaitis

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is propelling forward to recruit Kuwaitis for the hundreds of administrative and technical jobs at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, Al-Anba daily states. Recruitment was suspended since last March as a consequence of the coronavirus, and due to the imposed curfew by the Council of Ministers  to prevent the spread of the virus.

The daily said, quoting a senior oil source, that as of last Monday,  KPC began interviewing for those who had sent in their applications last January, and is in the process of completing the English language and specialization tests for applicants which will happen within the next two weeks. This is to ensure that the successful candidates will begin work in the oil sector based on the available opportunities in each company.

The employment mechanism in the oil sector is among the top priorities of the Minister of Oil and the Acting Minister of Electricity and Water, Dr. Khaled Al-Fadhel and CEO of the KPC Hashem Sayed Hashem to ensure employment for the largest number of Kuwaitis in the oil sector. He pointed out the KPC and its subsidiaries work hard to support national employment by providing job opportunities for the Kuwaiti youth in cooperation with various educational institutions in Kuwait. He added that KPC are keen to employ Kuwaiti university graduates in various disciplines according to the employment plans that define the needs of the oil sector. Disclosing the total number of appointments during the past five years was 5,226 Kuwaitis, he noted most of these appointments were technical and in the engineering sector.
