Kishawi Mills Partners with Al-Bahar Group to Distribute Food Products in Kuwait

Kishawi Mills, the Kuwait-based premium spice brand has signed an exclusive agreement with Al-Bahar Group to distribute its food products in Kuwait.

The official signing ceremony was held at the offices of Emad General Trading & Contracting Company (EGTC) – A Bahar Kuwait Holding Group Affiliate, and was attended by Mr. Nafez Al-Kishawi, CEO- Kishawi Mills; Mr. Firas Al-Kishawi, General Manager- Kishawi Mills; Mr. Ihab Al-Khatib, Group General Manager- Bahar Kuwait Holding Group, Mr. Abdul Lateef Al-Bahar, General Manager- FMCG Group; and Mr. Raji Rajab, General Manager- EGTC.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Nafez Al-Kishawi said “We aim to extend our market reach and availability in Kuwait. By partnering with Al-Bahar Group, we will be able to focus more on our Kishawi core competencies, while depending on EGTC for all the distribution and in-market activities for the Kishawi brand”. Mr. Ihab Al-Khatib said, “We are very excited to welcome Kishwai Mills to the Al-Bahar group portfolio. We, at Al-Bahar value and recognize the Kishawi brand’s focus on quality in production, its long-established history in Kuwait, and its reputation and status in the food market. We are honored to team up with them, as we are confident that this partnership will be highly beneficial to the Al-Bahar Group, the Kishawi team, and most importantly, our dear consumers and customers in Kuwait.”

Mr. Abdul Lateef Al-Bahar also spoke on this occasion, “Today, we sign a very important partnership agreement, where we continue to add new food brands to EGTC’s distribution network, aiming to compete in new categories, thus offering a wider range to our customers. We believe the Kishawi brand, shall meet and exceed the expectations of our consumers”.

Kishawi Mills was established in 1962 and has built its premium position in the food market by procuring from the global food markets, always selecting high-quality farm-fresh crops, including spices, nuts, and pulses. The fresh products are then processed and packed at state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

EGTC founded in 1993, is part of the Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar group (Al-Bahar Group), is a market-leading food distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) including essential products (rice, pasta, olive oil, canned food, sauces, etc.) and other consumer packaged goods.

The distribution agreement seeks to build on the strengths of both groups, with Kishawi focusing on building the brand in the market, adding categories, expanding the range, and increasing production. Meanwhile, EGTC, with its’ extensive market knowledge, will work on enhancing the reach and visibility for Kishawi Mills products at Coops, hypermarkets, and traditional trade channels. EGTC has built long-standing relationships with many leading global brands across multiple categories and has successfully introduced many premium food brands to the Kuwaiti market. Both groups aim to make the brand more accessible to the Kuwaiti consumers and are looking to make the Kishawi brand a market leader in the spice and pulses categories.
